Ariel Winograd

Born in Buenos Aires, Ariel Winograd graduated from Universidad del Cine and quickly established himself as one of Argentina’s most distinctive comedic voices. In parallel to his film career, he entered the advertising world in 2006 driven by a simple impulse: the desire to keep shooting. Since then, he has directed commercials for brands including Brahma, Personal, Peugeot and Noblex, developing a sharp instinct for storytelling under time pressure — a discipline he considers essential to his craft as a filmmaker.

His feature films, including Mamá se fue de viaje (the highest-grossing Argentine film of 2017), El robo del siglo, and the Paramount+ original El gerente — inspired by one of Argentina’s most celebrated advertising campaigns — have consolidated him as a key figure in contemporary Argentine cinema. Most recently, he directed the series Coppola, el representante and Menem, both of which further cemented his reputation for turning real stories into compelling popular narratives.
